Is Robinhood Legit?

If you guys don't know, Robinhood is an app that changes the way you can invest stocks, bonds, and crypto, with apparently no additional fees.
Has anybody used the app and made some sort of profit that they have cashed out with on the app? I'm confused as to how this kind of system is even possible.

They are definitely legitimate and they have millions of customers. Clients accounts are protected by SIPC the same way Etrade of Fidelity accounts are protected: for up to $500,000 it total value (including up to $250,000 cash).
