Good starter car?

Hey guys, I'm 18 years old and recently got in the situation where I need a car for my new job

I will make long miles so im looking for a (preferably) good looking car with good mileage around 6-8k (I'm just a student)

Any suggestions for a good starter car?

Where you from? And does it need to be a new car or can it be secondhand?

If you are claiming as a student and paying this first car on your own, a used car would be the best decision depending on your budget or finance. First car would normally be either a Honda or a Miata due to their long life and cheap maintenance cost. you are welcome to buy other cars at your choice, but most student in my observation go for either a Honda or Miata for price and insurance cost.

Netherlands, Secondhand is fine

Maybe a ford ka from 2008 or newer would do the job for you. I know they're ugly but the handling is pretty good and there are a lot of parts since they were so populair.
Also falls in the cheapest tax system (under 1000kg)

I am sure Mazda Miata and a Honda Civic would somewhat fall under these catagories dont they?

Would probably fall in higher tax categories in the Netherlands and with a starter car I would just get a car that's in the cheapest. But I agree that those would be better options if you have more to spend.
