Having trouble finding endermen

Does anyone have some new tips on how to find endermen. I've locked my difficulty at normal because want to play a survivial world without cheats for once

Ive always had luck just building a dark room with traps can push all the other mobs out if there are no endermen.

You shouldn't be playing normal. Hard isn't much harder than normal is, and it would increase the chance you can get endermen

For me I personally got a horse and rode around in circles around a pool of water. Then when I found one I would look at it so it would aggro, and stand in the water (around 3 blocks away) he can't hit you, and will get hurt by the water and your sword.
