Delayed VAC ?

Has anyone experienced a very delayed vac before? +3months up to a year? :'m very curious about this topic and I've heard very different answers and on other forums as well so I'm not sure if it's possible.

For example If I used a cheat and stopped/ went offline, but 1 week later the cheat was detected. is it possible to get vac after a while ? since VAC sents memory dumps and it can detect the cheat that was used?
However this account has not been banned, since it went offline after one use

What are your thoughts?

I didnt get banned for a solid 3 months after I hacked once

I got vac banned after I got an overwatch ban 2 weeks later. It can take some time.
