Switch vs other consoles

Ive heard alot of people claiming that the switch is just a ?secondary console and that you have to have eother a PS4 or Xbox One. Ive been using my switch as my main console. What do yall think?

What's the difference. They are all console. They only differ at what games they can offer. And whether you can play while on the go or not
