Gmod still has a lot of active players, however it might be hard starting up a new community. Word of mouth is a good way to get new players just by being active on your own server and maybe talking to people on other servers.

It's alive and thriving, just difficult to build a community up at this point without connections.

It's been a long time since I had touched Gmod and I had used to be really big in running communities. Before I get back into playing and ATTEMPTING to start a community, what are your thoughts. Is it even worth it now? Is GMOD dead or is it still alive?
Still alive, a lot of new content in all game mods

Yes it's worth it, depending on what you have to offer them if it's a quality "server".
