Any Discord alternative?

I really don't like Discord's hosted somewhere else method, are there any self hosted Discord alternatives?

Skype, Teamspeak are good alternatives and were used before discord.

I'd say there is no real discord alternative at this point in time. Nothing that is quite as robust.
If you want a standalone solution Slack or Teamspeak might be your best bets. Otherwise, stick with discord.
