2 source has already been released, used in dota 2, facepunch is preparing a new sandbox project (name)

Whenever a new engine is released, then possibly. I doubt Garry would make another game from scratch, especially with the amount of work it took it get it to where Garry's Mod is today. I just hope that maybe some day, there will be a gamer similar to Garry's Mod to reignite the flame for user created content and games.

There will be S&box, maybe... From what i've seen it is not like the garrysmod we know tho. It's more like and engine inside an engine in my opinion.

Already developing garrys mod 2, but not officially the game developers, but just players who helped to develop and remove bugs, you can find the theme on the official website of the developers, even the discord is where they upload screenshots and videos.

Gmod 2? didn't you know you're playing gmod 13 LUL

I'm pretty sure they're working on a Garry's Mod 2 but not calling it that. If I remember correctly it's being written in C++ with Unreal Engine.
