Is Kik still popular

I wanted to know this for awhile cause my friend still uses Kik and I dont understand why

Only thing I know people use kik for is for ewhoring. Other than that people switched to Snapchat/Instagram/Discord for messaging nowadays. Though Kik is getting shut down soon no? :dquestion:
