Teamspeak is good for talking with friends expecially if they live close to you and you have a server to run it on. Discord is good for large communities and is more like a messaging platform. Teamspeak is a powerful voice application with very in depth permissions and configuration

Depends, imo discord is the best communicator rn, but I also love teamspeak.

Discord is great on features and call quality but it has worse telemetry then Windows 10. They also store a questionable amount of data for a long time. It's legal but questionable. I still use discord over skype and ts but I'm just careful what they have. I suggest requesting your data from them when you have some free time, it's interesting to see what they get. I also suggest looking at their score on privacyspy(.org).

I prefer teamspeak, Discord is buggy for me, too often. Way too often.

Discord is free after all, and has good API support, so I would definitively go for that.
Also don't forget that you need to pay for TeamSpeak if you want a bigger Server.

The one thing I love is that skype has the ability to call phones, and if you make a new account you get unlimited calling for free... so you can makes as many stupid calls as you would like
