Its a really a nice looking site, a lot more user friendly then reddit thats for sure. I do agree on what seems to a popular choice in that the red does seem a little aggressive and makes you feel like youve done something wrong but I understand why you went with that colour.
Black mode is win! Black, grey with blue goes together really well. Just one thing, that bugs me. Its very hard to see, when to try mark text with mouse.
