Serious Why is every post closed by a moderator if i click "RANDOM THREAD" button?

I mean the title says it all..

Is this on purpose or am i doing something wrong or?

I hadn't tried that feature prior to seeing this thread, but it appears as though threads older than one month are automatically locked.
The odds of a random thread being older than a month just seem way too higher than it being younger than a month, hence why most (or, statistically speaking, all) threads are closed.
