It does still stand up, as a sandbox game where many things are possible

I'd say it is yeah, no matter if in single player or in multiplayer, new addons and servers come daily. so yeah ^^

Its still fun yeah. I don't see old games as no longer fun because they're old, that seems stupid to me, like I collect old gen consoles and still love playing those. If you're meaning the community changing, its worse but def not as bad as people make it out to be

why not?, well for me yes i love it..

Depends what side of gmod you go on, I like the serious gamemodes but there are ones such as darkrp and darkrp derived gamemodes if you want to mess around.
