saddest anime?

Your Lie In April screwed me up when I watched it the first time. I agree with Tokyo Magnitude with being sad

Angle Beats had me crying like my first love had just dumped me. And I'm a 26 year old man. God I love that show.

Kimi no Nawa, Angel Beats!, AoHana :( only these 3 made me literally cry.

I think was some moments of naruto, dragon ball and the promised neverland

I didn't check if it was written in the comments, but "Koe no Katachi" is one of the best quality anime movies you can watch and contains exactly the genres you are looking for.

The only anime that made me sad is "Elfen lied". True, I dont watch so many sad animes.

I gotta say that one of the saddest shows I saw was Samurai Jack. It deals with some heavy stuff with a fairly dark ending.
