Hey why does my VMware take up almost half of the data on my disk? How to reduce this to lower storage?

Then make a new repartition. What is the purpose from your VM's?
Like me im just making a virtual disk with 60gb and thats ok for debugging.

I don't think you are going to be able to shrink it down, that is the build size.

OP, how many VMs are you planning to keep? I'm not sure what your intended purpose of using VMWare is but you can go into properties and adjust how big you want the virtual disk size to be if you do not want it to take up a lot of space. You can google search "Resize a Hard Disk in VMWare"

Depends on what you need the VMs for. I mostly use it as a lab, for testing purposes so I have a couple of 1TB HDDs solely for VM storage.
