I was thinking about starting my own GMod DarkRP server, but then i thought that it might be a bad idea. Any advices?

You must be very good in GLua-Scripting. Also it would be nice, if you can 3d-modelling. Your server must be unique... otherwise nobody will play on your server.

I home-host my servers, I'm an IT Guy by day so I have a couple old servers and plenty of networking knowledge.
If you home-host your servers you're not really paying for anything except the server itself, and you really don't need much horsepower to run a gmod server anyways, an old laptop with an ethernet connection will do just fine.

Server must be unique, and not a server like all others ( using the same gmodstore shit etc)

In my oppinion you should NEVER host a server just to get profit a gameserver is for making people have fun not profit
