Thought of it as soon as I read dumbest plot, honestly surprised no one else mentioned SAO before you. The first part of it was alright, the second part is completely trash though.

There are lots of bad anime examples out on the internet, what do you think is the worst of all of them you know?

Hitman reborn had an annoying ending where the main character hadn't really matured and it was said in book e hadn't changed

Controversial opinion but i'd say Kakegurui, it just, ended.
Like all the buildup to season 2, and on the last episode, it just ends, nothing special, as if it were a regular episode in the middle of the show. You're left there waiting for the next episode but find out that literally was the end of the season.
It was a great show still but damn that disappointed me.

Soul Eater hands down. I loved the show but I won't recommend it to anyone because of how horrible the ending is. I walked away from that show feeling like I drank a delicious lemonade and then finding out someone pissed in it after the fact.
