quick question who here codes lua? I just had the thought because some people say its a dead lang thanks!

One thing keeping it alive is Garry's Mod and presumably S&Box when its released LOL
I reckon you some kind of fancy lawyer or sumtin'?

lua still works fine but it doesnt have any advantage over javascript these days

Apart from the fact that Garry's Mod uses its own custom version of Lua called GLua. S&Box isn't coded in Lua either. It's in C#. So I don't know what they have in common at all.

Not to forget- Roblox is coded in Lua and roblox has a bigger increase then Garry's Mod.

Yes- Lua is a shit language and is unused now-a-days. But it is still big in communities such as Roblox.

Yeah... wasn't saying they were coded in LUA. LOL but that they USE it. It's just rumored S&Box does the same. No confirmation though obviously. Everything is cryptic with S&BOX still lol.

I wouldn't know anything about Roblox :(

?? It's already been stated the S&Box is using C#. The odds of them scrapping this and implement Lua into the mix too is stupid. Lua has 100x the amount of limitations that C# has. So what would be the point?

You don't have to write your game in LUA to be able to utilize LUA scripting to add mod support.

Did you not read what I just said?

The limitations of Lua compared to C# is ridiculous. Using both would be stupid. Sticking to C# only would be greater for the game.

That's fine. I do agree. I'm just stating (from the very beginning) it was rumored..... The whole topic was about LUA and all I stated was it was rumored it uses it too. That's all. LOL. Yes, it is limited in comparrison to just about any damn language and would be better using anything else. However no one knows for sure and there might be good reasons to stick with LUA that we couldn't possibly know/understand.
