I've quit CS:GO for about 2 years now. Has the community changed at all?

I quit CS:GO due to the stress it gave me as well as the toxic community. While chatting with my friends, one of them brought up the topic of Counter-Strike and asked my friends and I on our experiences. I've still been thinking about this and wonder what other people think about the community and the game today, especially since the game went free-to-play. Looking forward to your insightful comments!
