Piracy

What's your opinion on piracy, I've heard many different opinions and I want to hear some on here.

Positive if you don't have the money to buy a game, for example.
Hacking excessively is not good, however

Piracy is illegal, but it is also a way of getting free games (and maybe even selling it).

If everything is accessible to everyone then it wouldn't exist at all. Movie companies only make movies because it makes them money, if it were free to everyone they wouldn't do it nor could they do it. Game companies only make videogames because it makes them money, if it were free to everyone they wouldn't do it nor could they do it. You do get some free games with things like microtransactions, which no one wants and I'm sure you'd be against as well. It's basic economics.

Piracy can help some industries, however. For example, Microsoft doesn't really care about Windows being pirated as it has boosted Windows into being the #1 used operating system by far, and most people that pirate it will later purchase a copy of it, statistically. This isn't the same for some industries, however, like the videogame industry.

We're all on this forum, I suspect most of us are probably okay with piracy.

I have a mixed opinion on it.

For example if you are poor and cant afford something, it is okay.

but if you have money and could afford it then buy it

piracy is ok if the game is unreasonably high priced for such a low quality game that deserves a lower price

If you're pirating something for personal use then I think its perfectly fine, but if you're going to pirate something to make an absurd amount of money off of it, its kinda scummy.

piracy saves many who have no money to buy games, I for example have several cracked games
