Worth Mining for Personal Use in 2020?

Definitely not. Bitcoin mining hasn't been worth for ages - you're competing against large institutions with 100x that of your rig across the world. You'll end up making a net loss on the power consumption.

Man this whole bitcoin thing just confuses me. someone told me last week that i might have a virus cos my CPU is slow and they think it cosve bitcoin

Blockchain but only cos ive never used anything else XD my friend introduced me to it and ive never tried anything else

Things have changed a lot over the last few years. also A single GPU could mine things like vertcoin decently well back in 2016-2017, now not so much. Also that project fell off soon after the last run.

It really depends on if you can find a project that is not known or technically "worthless" and get in before something happens. Otherwise, any mainstream mining like say Bitcoin as the others have said is worthless. The cost of electricity and hardware is too high. You would be better off saving extra cash and dollar cost averaging it into a project you like rather then trying to mine anything at this point - even the small unknown projects. A few dollars will buy you more than you could ever mine in a day.
