How can i get more users to my garrys mod darkrp server?

A honest answer would be advertising and staying true to what you advertise. I found out that a good way to get people on your servers is by hosting other servers and building your community. Eventually you tell them that you host other things and some might be interested and go and check it out. So basically yeah. Advertise yourself.

This is a topic that I'm interested in myself as well since it's something that I still have to improve on. How to make people try and stay on your server.

Advertising anyway you can works usually. Im not talking about leaking your mark on other servers but I mean like for example, put the ip and description in your signature so when you post, everyone will see.

The only way to get more players on your server for free is through the name of the server, the gamemode and the amount of players on the server. Nobody wants to join an empty server so you really need players to get players. Try getting at least 10 of your friends (if you have any) to play at the same time. This will probably kickstart your servers growth. Also, make sure to have a decent Discord server that's easy to find to retain the players you already have and to really create a sense of community.

For darkRP, if its seriousRP, a good base of players that know how to rp. Good feedback from people that dont like part of your server, good addons, a nice-looking map/models/props...

You should think about what you would like to play. So if you think "oh a robbery system that would be nice" you should add it. You shouldnt put 1000 Addons on your server but you should choose your addons with this Mindset. You also should invest Time into Design like Loadingscreen and Networking like advertising your server in stream Groups.
