Is DarkRP dying

DarkRP is the worst mode of gmod imho, TTT is much better.

this guide is basically proving that gmod servers are basically a business to manipulate children

so yes some darkrp servers are toxic AF but there are some good servers out there

Biggest problem with the majority of servers is the relentless monetization. VIP, custom weapons, custom classes, custom ranks, you name it. Most of the hi-pop servers are this exact way. You have to look at the server titles in the browser and usually you can tell which ones are P2W and which ones are run by people who actually like the game.

Non-donation servers are the good ones, or atleast ones that don't exchange for ingame stuff. It really is a business.

darkrp could be a decent gamemode but all of the servers these days are pay to win

Afaik darkrp is still the most popular gamemode played in Gmod, so no.
