Pewdiepie made minecraft active again?

He definitely helped, but not really, no.. It was still wildly big beforehand.

The game probably wouldn't have died imo, just wouldn't have had the big resurgence it did

totally agree. Minecraft was huge before pewds starting playing it. But with his audience now playing minecraft it brought back to life a lot of servers though

I do not think Minecraft would be dead without PewDiePie, but it certainly would not display the level of activity and interest that it presently maintains.

Pewdiepie has always had a strong influence on minecrafts popularity but I also think that minecraft's recent updates have pushed minecraft back into the top played games.
