Are Gmod servers still profitable in 2020 and for the next 5 years?

I've thought about this a lot, I love gmod and hope it never dies. The facepunch forums are shutdown forever,Itwas the heart of all gmod errors/solutions/content. Do you think this is an indicator of it's lifespan closing?

Say it doesn't survive another 5 years, what servers do you think would be its replacement?

To the question of its replacement; None of the above. Garry's mod 2 (s&box) is only a couple years from releasing. https://sandbox.facepunch.com/

It will probably begin to rapidly die out once s&box releasing, till then it's still a pretty profitable platform but no-where near the levels of a Roblox game.
