Some people think thatrap/trap music is not really music because is too much talking and some melodies are overused. What do you think?

It's a sub genre of hip-hop, so that classifies it as much as music as Gangsta Rap or G-funk.

I know T.I. gets all the credit as the founder of the Trap genre (only because he was the first to title an album with the phrase "Trap") , but the origins of Trap to me go back to Master P and No Limit. Even back to when I was a young kid in 1995 and first heard Down South Hustlers: Bouncin' and Swingin'.

In my opinion, its music if the creator intended it to be. Even if they didnt, if you like it, hey its music to your ears.

i feel like these things are always said about new genres in the beginning, like rock'n'roll back then or punk. all music imo

It entirely is music, the same argument can be said about death metal from somebody who listens to trap music.

Sure, it's one of hip hop genres, it's more ostentation rap than the normal one

Anything that makes noise or is a sound can be considered music by someone. Does the general public accept it is another question. Seems so for now. Yoko Ono thought she was making music...so.....to each their own

Music can be anything and I personally LOVE trap. It's one of my favorites.

How is it not music tho lol. Music has such a loose definition and if you apply a strict enough definition to it, then a lot of things that are generally considered music stop being music.
