Is counter strike dead?

The counter strike is suffering right now. not many people like it as much because of cod.

The market is pretty much what it keeps it alive, there are guns that used to cost $15 dollars that today are going for $411dlls, while the market is still going so people will still try to keep the game floating lol

CS GO is still pretty crowded. Not compared to cs source

CS: GO is an impossible game to stop playing, even with so many cheaters you can't let go.

Of course it is not dead, it has a constant and very big community and tournments

Of course COD is not on steam and I don't doubt that it has a higher player count by any means (https://playercounter.com/call-of-duty-modern-warfare/ you weren't specific which COD). Counter-Strike isn't dead, you can just check Games stats. CS:GO reaches a lot of players per day, and it's improving by updating it.

CSGO will always be my childhood, nothing compares to waking up and playing a sweaty match in the morning.
