what songs should i listen to if am new to heavy metal/rock music?

sabaton is a really good one. also powerwolf is also great. Listen to their latest or most viewed ones on their yt channel I I gurantee you like it

Volbeat would be my suggestion, great for driving.

I recommend you Buzzcocks, one of the bands more underrated in history. The Kinks too.

Some more alternative/punk sounding rock bands are Sonic Youth, Pixies, Husker Du

You gotta listen to the classic bands like Metallica, Megadeth, and Iron Maiden. Also Judas Priest is awesome too, can't go wrong with the old school stuff!

have a listen to mouth culture, they have a heavy vibe but still manage to create funky songs!

Listen to the album, "Grape Blueprints Pour Spinach Olive Grape", by Dilute. It's kind of a concept album so you listen to it from start to finish.
