Both new gen companies have awesome releases; it's hard to tell which are worth getting. Any advice?

It really depends on your budget. If you just want the newest parts that aren't insanely priced, and AMD 5800X and an RTX 3080 sounds like a pretty good combo.

I currently have a 3900x and a 270 super as soon as availability lets me I'm getting a 3080 and a 5900x,

In my house the wife gets my old stuff and then it passing on like that through the kids so nothing is really wasted and everyone gets a slight upgrade each year

What are you looking to play / do with the computer?

Pure gaming, the AMD processors are usually better price for performance. Nvidia GPUs are my preference for graphics cards. However, if you are looking to do modeling/rendering etc, intel cpu might be the way to go.

If gaming, are you looking to play todays newest AAA games in 4k? Or playing older games at 1080p and under?

Currently I have a RTX 2060 for my Graphics Card and a Ryzen 5 3600 for my CPU. My server has a 750 Ti. Yes I gave my server a GPU and a 2700x.

If you're looking for a cheap build Ryzen3 3100, Radeon RX 560, Corsair Vengeance LPX (16GB) work well together.

1050ti, 16 ram and i5-9600KF is my set. And I still can play modern games on high quality (I haven't tested Cyberpunk)
