Yes, I have. I know quite a few people who dropped out and are successful musicians. I don't think it would be great today since the job market is all about bs degrees that still pay nothing.

Being a drop out isn't the end of the world, but if you don't know what you want out of life, you're generally not going to shape up to be much more in your local area. The reason why "drop outs" still become successful is because they know what they want, and they have the wherewithal to understand how to get it, or to at least find people who can help them get it.
