Trying to get into the game

I'm detoxicating from League of Legends, and getting more into singleplayer games, and really open-ended multiplayer games like Warcraft 3, and Minecraft.

Recently, I've joined this forum, and saw the really active community of Garry's Mod players.

Do you guys think I should play this game?
Why should I play this game?
Is there anything I should know before investing time in it?

Help me out, guys.

Hey Heltonyan I would recommend checking out some prop hunt servers or ttt servers on Garrysmod. If your into roleplay as well this game has no limit!

I have only experience with playing TTT on private Servers. And I really thing it is a lot of fun playing in a group of people you know. I never really enjoyed playing it on public servers. However since I know some people that own the game, that wasn't a problem. What really annoys me is setting up one of those private servers, until you have a decent experience. There are always things that could be better with so many mods out there. And even hosting a server on the internet was a real hassle.

Probably should wait for S&box and hope they improve the "server hosting" issue. I suspect it will be pretty similar and have a much larger actively playing community, since GMod is already pretty old.

I would say just jump into whatever peaks your interest. You'll find a whole slew of toxic communities, but you'll also find a lot of one's you'll become attached to. There's no real answer besides jump.

lots of fun game modes like prophunt, ttt and darkrp. give it a go!

If you can find a PERP server or something of the like, you could end up sinking a LOT of time into that. Real good fun, if you're in it for the long haul. If you want quick bursts, best to stick with DarkRP and the like

It depends on how you want to play it, if you want to play with your Friends, on your own server, then it will be the best time in Garry's Mod you will have, trust me.
If you don't have friends who play Garry's Mod, go to servers like "TTT, Prop Hunt, StartWarsRP, DarkRP..." , these Gamemodes are not "dead", and that will be fun too
