I actually really liked Black Lagoon.

I recommend Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Samurai Champloo, Gurren Lagann, or Code Geass.
All action and very entertaining anime.
If you're looking for a different kind of anime than that, try Tokyo Magnitude 8.0.

Forget what he just said. Go and watch One Piece anime then once you're up to date and you get bored, go and read the manga from beginning to current chapter. It's worth it.
