Private Messages Disabled

It's the second time I receive a private message but when I try to answer I see this error:



Now, having PM disabled is fine but users being able to SEND PMes but not to RECEIVE answers because their PM are disabled doesn't make much sense to me.

May this be fixed someway? E.G. Alert telling users "be aware, your incoming PM is disabled" or preventing user from sending PMes at all if messages are disabled (why should somebody be able to send messages but not to receive them?)

This is just my feedback.

I was unaware of the message limit.

Just make it so that they can't message instead, not receive messages.

We're aware of an issue recently regarding sending messages. If you run into this anymore post them here for me. We're trying to get as many examples as possible to establish exactly why this has randomly started happening. In the meantime, you can drop a message on their profile.

Edit: This specific user turned off messages as per their account settings. Going to look into this a little more.

Edit 2: I think I've found the root cause of this issue and have raised it to be fixed. All users may be able to receive messages soon. I'll update when fixed.

This issue has now been resolved, you should be able to message the user back. Any issues open a thread in Ask Staff.
