If it is a server type machine you're just going to let run simple tasks ... maybe. If you actually want to use and interact with it - probably not.

It depends on what gen and what you are planning on doing with it. If you are just using it for porn, 6th gen or newer is perfectly fine.

For the moment ignore INtel, purchase AMD processor! I have Ryzen 7 3700X

No for gaming. Gaming would rough if it youre playing CPU intensive games

It comes down to what you need it for it's perfectly adequate for mundane programs. I have owned two laptops that used a i3 it's adequate for opengl graphics or run through a browser like Netflix. But any modern graphics rendering will require and i5 minimum these days

I wouldn't suggest it, the new AMD chips are a lot more powerful for the same price, and often cheaper!

Get a i5 10th gen there about $150 us right now and it's good for gaming and work.
