I love football. I played when I was young, realized I was terrible xD so I stopped but I still enjoy playing with my mates. But one thing I can't understand which is so widespread about it is how much players will always throw themselves to the ground whenever they're touched. Even when I played that was so frowned upon that the few times the referees actually showed a yellow card it wouls mostly be because of this. We learned that footbal is a game with physical contact. Of course that there are limits to the contact, but it doesn't justify professional players falling over just because they've been touched. I don't know exactly what can be done to stop this, but maybe a system that saw every foul that happened to a player throughout a game, and afterwards referees would analyse it to see if it was legit or not. Then if they did fake a foul they accumulate points. After a certain threshold they would be force to not play in the next match. What do you think of this system?
RE: Is anyone else upset with the current state of football (soccer) fouls?
Yeah. If you tackle someone as long as it is not completely from behind (do it with a slight angle from behind) then it is only a yellow. But then if you're just chasing someone by running behind them, you might randomly get a red for being directly behind even if you don't tackle them
