Is anyone else upset with the current state of football (soccer) fouls?

I love football. I played when I was young, realized I was terrible xD so I stopped but I still enjoy playing with my mates.
But one thing I can't understand which is so widespread about it is how much players will always throw themselves to the ground whenever they're touched. Even when I played that was so frowned upon that the few times the referees actually showed a yellow card it wouls mostly be because of this. We learned that footbal is a game with physical contact. Of course that there are limits to the contact, but it doesn't justify professional players falling over just because they've been touched.
I don't know exactly what can be done to stop this, but maybe a system that saw every foul that happened to a player throughout a game, and afterwards referees would analyse it to see if it was legit or not. Then if they did fake a foul they accumulate points. After a certain threshold they would be force to not play in the next match.
What do you think of this system?

Yeah. If you tackle someone as long as it is not completely from behind (do it with a slight angle from behind) then it is only a yellow. But then if you're just chasing someone by running behind them, you might randomly get a red for being directly behind even if you don't tackle them
