Worst part about braces? Anyone ever had/currently has them?

I'm 3 months in and I need braces for an overbite. I just recently got orthodontic spacers in between my second molars and they really hurt, I had to take about two or three painkillers on the first day that I got them. I'm getting the spacers removed next week and they'll probably start banding from what I heard. What has been the hardest part about braces for those that had them?

one of my friends used to be a jock in highschool and he would always get into fights. With a bit of metal in your mouth id probably stay far away from things hitting me but to each their own. surgery isnt fun especially in your mouth.
