Hello all, this has always bothered me, and I finally decided to put it to defiant words, I may have used some incorrect terminology, so you'll have to excuse my ignorance, but I'm just trying to get the general idea across, I by no means consider myself very knowledgeable in the field, I just have a love for it!

I'll spoiler this because It's a little long Wink

The Box Conundrum is a problem that altogether has perplexed me, more so than the debate about the origins of matter-energy, as The Box Conundrum is one step deeper. Matter-energy to even exist, must have a space or area to reside in. Whether it be outside of our normal definition of space or not, matter needs an area to manifest as something. And this is the exact problem. The current fore leading theory, The Big Bang Theory, attempts to present the idea that the universe as we see it originated from one very hot and small point. However there is an even bigger issue with this idea, where did the area(or space) that allowed this small, immensely dense point to manifest come from? The Box Conundrum attempts to put this complex thought into words, which may never be sufficient. We as humans cannot imagine absolute nothing, we may image black that extends out as far as the eye can see, but we cannot imagine(in a literal sense) nothing. This problem is applied to our Box Conundrum as if we can imagine our universe, albeit with definite bounds, like a box, this presents many problems.

1: If our universe is like a box, what is outside of this box? How can this box exist individually, in nothing?

2: If this box does exist, in nothing, it originated from something, which means there are other rules that it was created by.

3: If this box was created by other rules, what allowed those rules to manifest?

If we for example take the idea of spontaneous creation. And we say that the big bang was a product of spontaneous creation. That does indeed solve the immediate problem, however the next step is tackling how the ?box we reside in was created. One could say that if spontaneous creation exists, then would that same scenario not play out for the ?boxs creation? This stance seems logical, however if this is true, then what has allowed this rule to manifest? What has created the, even if only mathematical, area for this rule to exist? This would lead us to a case of infinite russian nesting dolls. But such is The Box Conundrum.

this represents my way of thinking, or a regular basis.
It's too complicated to define it with words, but I appreciate your thread, it's nice to see someone with brain cells on the internet, with all do respect, some people are just.. ewgh

The main question to ask is, in my opinion: "What was before Earth?" this question has too many complications, basically this subject is enormous.
