*This is a very elemantary tactic that you can learn very young. I however still use this while trying to read notes on a music sheet, so I will share it for any beginners. Just in case they don't know how to read music*

*Also keep in mind that this is for a 'C' instrument. My example will be based on a piano. So if you use a Trumpet (which is a 'G') you will have to just see it as a "Concert scale"*

Reading Music
Music is made to be played. Sheet music can be quite tough to read when you are just starting out. So here is a quick and easy way to identify which note should be played on a sheet of music.

ReadingTrebleClef
Treble Clef is identified at the left of your sheet music with this symbol

Now lets take a look at the spaces of this clef first.

Take a look at this image below:

As you can see. This spells out "Face". this is definitely the easiest one to read

Now the lines is where it gets tricky

Lets take a look at another image:[/color]

As you can see. The letters are "E - G - B - D - F" (going from bottom to top, as you always should) A quick and easy way to read this is by the phrase "Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge" (This is easier becauseit fits with another phrase with bass clef) You can always make up your own. This one is just very easy (for me)

Reading Bass Clef

Bass clef can be identified by the symbol in the left

It looks like a sideways frown to me

Lets first take a look at the spaces:

These letters come together as "A - C - E - G" This could be remembered as the phrase "All Cows Eat Grass"

[And finally. Lets do( ? )the lines:

This spells out "G - B - D - F - A" which could be used for the phrase "Good Boys Deserve Fudge Always" (See how it fits with the other lines for Trebel? Clever ain't it)

Well. There you go! Hope you got something out of this tutorial. I personally still use this in my band class and it has personally benefited me a lot (I don't have to practice for lessons, I can read the music that fast now)
