How do I improve building?

Building tutorials and such makes this game a chore, so I was wondering for tips instead so I could have fun instead of waiting for the next step of a tutorial.

Watch some tutorials, they really help a lot

watch tutorials from "Grian" he has a lot of them and pretty good explained that's where i learnt from

You can just experiment and learn by yourself bit by bit. Or you could join building servers and take a look around other people's creations

I usually use tutorials when building, but I don't really feel like I am learning how to build on my own, since I am just copying what someone else has already done.
