My colleagues staryed playing, I thought I'd start today too, seems like the diabloesque combat is enough to pull people in, sure was the selling point for me.

But I see your point, I hate mmorpgs in general, they are usually empty and grindy and the combat isn't enough to save the genre

I wish I could count the hours I invested in playing World Of Warcraft, first on EU, followed by NA once I moved here. Though, I'd probably be terrified knowing the number lol.

It's part of the MMORPG genre of games so it shares that typical core gameplay loop. Exploring new environments or unlocking new content can be fun, but it defintely becomes repetitive and can be hard to justify the time investment compared to faster-paced games.

I think because of its popularity

Answer is going to be subjective from player-to-player. In my review, I highlighted the things that struck me about the game, the spectacular combat, the creative character powers, the varied and exciting dungeons, and the wild swings the game's central adventure takes. While the game's story isn't amazingly told, as an adventure it's constantly taking you to new and exciting places, which can vary significantly in theme and tone
