No, Minecraft is timeless and irreplacable.
No matter how badly Mojang fucks it up, it will live on. Good example is TF2, thats a timeless game 14 years going strong.

We can already see some games that have, fame-wise, peaked higher than MC in the last years (Fortnite, Roblox,...). But MC stays a timeless game played by people of all ages years after its creation. If a game is going to take its place, it's going to be a one reamrkable one.

Great question! To be fair, while I'm a big fan of computer games, I never thought about it. I spent weeks and months enjoying several games, but I never really tried to compare them. However, when I think of it, Minecraft is definitely up there with the greatest of all time. I would go as far as saying that it's the absolute best. Considering the changing environment, I don't think it will ever be topped. What other game can offer a player such a variety of cool servers? The Minecraft smp servers platform alone can guarantee you months of unlimited fun. Cheers!

I am sure that if some company actually makes an open world multiplayer game that has lots of content and good storyline it could be bigger than minecraft.
