Backlinks still work, they are essential, un natural backlinks wont work, you still need content as well,
.edu and .gov backlinks are gold

Thanks for sharing. Google devalued a lot of comment spamming, signature links and links from profiles. I'll give this method a shot though, and see if it will produce any good results.
