What makes TikTok so successful?

I don't use tiktok, but I use youtube shorts. I think that it's definitely popular because of the variety of content, dopamine rush from scrolling, and the fact it needs a low attention span. At least for me...

It's much easier to consume short videos than long form, plus the scrolling format makes it easier to browse for new content.

Tiktoks --> Shorts --> Reels I use all three but definitely think this new form of shortform content is a genius move, in terms of vlogging hype etc...

its a constant high getting videos on your feed daily adjusted to your liking.

The short videos, and the idea that it tracks peoples informations.

Short Videos + dopamine kick = people watch it four hours

easy to get addicted to, has a “for you” page where it shows videos catered to you specifically, also probably because people have become famous from the app

i think its successful because of the for you page kinda everything you like pops up on there

Well, As time passes by, people's attention span is getting lower so they digest shortform content more than longform. I think this is one of the reasons why TikTok is so successful and maybe become the most used social media in future imo.
