MyBB 1.6?

Don't know if this is the right section to ask this question but if not please move it.

I was wondering is it still worth installing or using MyBB 1.6 if yes which version is the best like 1.6.16 or..?

Mybb 1.6 is now an older version of mybb. TBH you really should not go for it considering the cons I have mentioned below:

Pros: Many of the plugins are working.
Cons: You lose the better look, additional features and last and most importantly security.

Ok now this what i exactly heard from other people, MyBB 1.6 has less security and your forum can get easily hacked but my question is there are couple of forums out there that are running 1.6 and big forums like HF for example but how comes there not getting hacked.

The front end still makes us feel its 1.6 but the core has been upgraded to 1.8

Note - The core backend update has been done to LF too.

Cake mentioned it in the announcements.

In easy words. YES HF and both LF are running on 1.8

Security on 1.8 is better, its always better to stay with the current update than updating it later ( which ofcourse is not an easy task)

Because they probably have good developers which have fixed all the previous security holes and upgraded the whole system.
