Google Allo is massaging app similar to iMessage. It connects to your phone number and it has many features like a great material design, the Google assistant, and special emojis and other things that I can'tthink of

From my experience it creates a completely different phone number when trying to SMS someone. And it says "sent by Allo". I'm just not sure if it's any useful other than SMS Though.

You can remove the SMS Signature if I recall. I used it a little bit, but deleted it afterwords.

I love the idea of it, but things like Facebook Messenger are already too widespread to switch fully.

True. I think that's the main issue with it.

The only good thing that I can see out of it is using the Google assistant without a google pixel

Yeah i definitely liked the idea of it compared to imessage, but in reality, it is not that good. The features are nice, but there better apps without the separate sms number.

Is it better than Whatsapp?

Used it for a while, but it gets boring too quickly as it's not so popular.
