As a Hip Hop head, I'd have to answer no. Lyrically, no. Storytelling wise, possibly. Punchlines, yes. Eminem has mastered wordplay and punchlines to the peak. However, I feel that Em lacks lyrical content. As well as storytelling in most songs. Most of his songs that people now really like, are not his best pieces of work; and people get him twisted and say that he's the best due to his speed when speed doesn't make you a better rapper. Is Eminem among the greatest of all time? Of course. Is the THE best? No, and I would hope that any logical hip hop fan wouldn't say he is. It all honestly comes down to personal preference, but when we look at it in prospective, you'd have to say that BIG is the best all time. He fits every category. Storytelling, yes. Lyricism, yes. Wordplay and Punchlines, yes. BIG would mop the floor with anyone. But of course he didn't live long enough for us to see his downfall. We only saw his rise and his supposed peak.
