Man accidentally 'deletes his entire company' with one line of bad code

Why not test out your scripts in a VM before applying them to your server?

Can the server people actually write some code that can save us from this mishap ? Seems like I also went through this phase but fortunately it was a VM and I could reconstruct everything that got deleted
