Garry's Mod Thinking about opening up a server

I'm thinking of opening up a server for Garry's Mod, since I think it could be fun and something to keep me occupied, the only problem is that I don't have any idea if people will join it or if I can afford the 10/month rent, I don't even really know how I should set up donations. Should I just put a paypal.me link where people can put donations with a message and in turn get VIP? Really confusing

if you open a server make sure you get a good enough server that doesnt lag or people wont play it.

its so hard, make server not easy everywhere minge and lag server

I have server files already made, all you have to do is upload them to your server and bam you are done. Just config to your liking.

Do it if you have the time!

Use prometheus it is very simple and quick to setup

I can recommend you to host the server on a VPS (virtual private server).
Its a lot cheaper.
A noez.de vps costs 3 per month and can handle a source server quite well.
For addons, just have a look at gmodstore, they sell quite good ones, including donation systems.
