Arch all the way! Atleast for home use, living on the bleeding edge can be fun, but i would not recommend arch to anyone that want to have a stable production system.

I've always used ubuntu or Debian, so i would prefer the two (since they're relatively the same thing), i tried to use CentOS but it didnt feel as nice to me.

I'm using Xubuntu 17.04 right now, absolutely love the XFCE desktop environment and it just looks and feels great to use on my low-end machine. ^-^

I personally like Fedora.

I personally always have and will use debian with openbox WM. It simply is the most customizable and has the ability to easily add compatible repos that are usually developed for and on the debian OS. Arch simply has problems when using the most recent repos most of the time.

Arch Linux was the first distribution that I tried. It's not a good first at all but it taught me a lot about BASH and the UNIX architecture. Personally, I don't recommend it as you need quite a bit of computing background to understand it. If you don't have an I.T. background, you are just following linear instructions and you don't know why. Kind of a waste of time if you do it that way.
